Window Blinds for Banks, Clinics, Schools and NGO Offices in Uganda

Institutions buy blinds differently from homeowners. A bank, clinic, school or NGO needs dozens or hundreds of windows covered, a consistent look across offices, and blinds that survive daily use for years. EDEVA Uganda has supplied blinds to organisations including NSSF, Child Fund, WWF, Joint Medical Stores, Management Services for Health, Buganda Land Board and Star EC. Here is what we have learned.

Banks and financial offices

Priorities: privacy for customer conversations, a professional look, and glare control at teller and officer desks. Venetian and vertical blinds are durable and uniform; zebra blinds suit managers' offices and boardrooms.

Clinics and health offices

Priorities: hygiene and easy cleaning. Aluminium venetian blinds and wipeable roller fabrics can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid fabrics that trap dust in consulting and treatment rooms.

Schools and training centres

Priorities: robustness and blackout for projectors. Vertical blinds tolerate heavy use (damaged slats are replaced individually), and blackout rollers make projection clear in daylight.

NGO and project offices

Priorities: value, speed and consistency — often across several regional offices. Standardise on one blind type and colour so replacements and new offices match.

Tips for institutional buyers

1. Survey every window — sizes differ even in "identical" rooms.
2. Choose one or two standard colours for the whole organisation.
3. Specify the mechanism — chain-operated blinds are simplest and most durable for shared spaces.
4. Plan installation out of hours to avoid disrupting staff and customers.
5. Keep spare slats or fabric from the same batch for repairs.
